How long have you been in business?
Karate America Appleton East/Darboy opened it's doors in September of 2001.
What is your primary product or service?
We offer martial arts instruction, fitness and summer camps.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We started the martial arts when our son started at the age of 4. It wasn't long and we were hooked and dedicated ourselves to becoming Karate America Black Belts! I, Mrs. Debbie McMullen, am a 5th degree black belt and my husband Mr. Jeff McMullen is a 4th degree black belt. We also hold black sashes in Shaolin Kung Fu.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are family focused. Our families train together. We also offer chanbara (soft sword sparring) classes as well as teen and adult fitness kickboxing and DDP Yoga classes.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location.

From Appleton (441 & KK): Travel east on E. Calumet St. (KK) to the corner of Calumet St. and Stonybrook Rd. You will see a Pick n' Save and Kohl's department store on the left. Turn left to head north on Stonybrook Rd. Take the first right onto Springfield Dr. and Karate America will be on your right hand side. From Darboy (N & KK): Travel west on E. Calumet St. (KK) to the corner of Calumet St. and Eisenhower Dr. You will see an Anchor Bank on the right. Turn right to head north on Eisenhower Dr. Take the first left onto Springfield Dr. and Karate America will be on your left hand side (across from Manderfield's Bakery).

We have students from Southeast Appleton, Darboy, Kimberly, Combined Locks, Little Chute, Kaukauna, Sherwood and the surrounding communities.

What are your hours of operation?
Mainly our hours are from 4pm-9pm M-Th and Sat. 7:45AM- 11:30AM. Of course, we are available anytime by phone (920)733-3444.
