How long have you been in business?
Xavier was originally built in 1959. A fine arts center was added in 1998 and most of the original building was demolished and rebuilt in 2006.
What is your primary product or service?
Xavier High School provides quality Catholic education to students from around the Fox Valley. Typically, 98% of Xavier graduates attend college, and over the last six years they earned an average ACT composite score of 25.2 with 98% taking the test. This is by far the highest average score and participation rate of any school in the area. Xavier has been recognized as one of the top 50 Catholic high schools in the nation since 2007.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Xavier is well known for its academic achievement, fine arts program and athletic opportunities and success. Faith development and spiritual experiences are at the core of our existence however. There is a Christian service requirement and faith is integrated into all of our academic subjects and co-curricular and athletic offerings. Christian leadership development is a focus at Xavier.
Xavier has strong Mock Trial and Robotics programs. Project Lead the Way sequence of courses in engineering and biomedical sciences were first offered in 2012. Beginning in 2013, Xavier High School students are required to bring a laptop (or tablet) to school. Xavier leads the way in the use of technology by integrating Google Docs, e-textbooks, Odyssey courses that are linked to MAP tests, and Haiku (a learning management system).
Xavier offers a five-year program in four world languages: Spanish, French, Chinese and German. There are a variety of travel opportunities throughout the year. Approximately 50 international students attend Xavier each year from a variety of countries including China, Korea, Spain, Russia, Germany, Burundi, Slovakia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Italy, Finland, Norway, Guatemala and Peru.
